Module Guide: Enhancing Formative Assessment with POGO’s Curriculum Performance Module

Overview: This guide explains how teachers can use the Curriculum Performance module in POGO Progress to enhance their formative assessment practice. The module is designed to give detailed insights into individual student progress and curriculum coverage across a class or year group.

Accessing the Curriculum Performance Module:

- Log in to your teacher account on POGO Progress.

- From the left-hand navigation panel, select the Curriculum Progress icon (depicted as a graduation cap).

- Choose the class you have been assigned to. You will only be able to view classes that have been allocated to you by an administrator.

Navigating to Curriculum Data:

- Select the curriculum you wish to assess (e.g. Maths Year 1).

- Then select the area of learning or topic (e.g. Number and Place Value). - Choose the specific statement or learning objective you taught.

Recording Assessments:

- A list of pupils will appear alongside the selected statement. - Use the Quick Assess All function to mark all pupils (e.g. “Secure”), and edit individual entries if needed. - Toggle through assessment statuses: Working Towards, Secure, Mastered, or leave as grey dash for absences. - Always click Progress Update before moving to the next statement.

Progress Analysis Tools: - Heat Maps: Show whole-class or group performance against curriculum statements. - Data Bars: Indicate average student performance per area of learning. - Statement-Level Analysis: Identify pupils working below, at, or above expectations.

Efficiency Tips:

- Toggle between “Student Percentage” and “Statement Percentage” views. - Use coverage data to flag possible gaps from low attendance or missed teaching. - Use insights to inform lesson planning and intervention.
