How to Upload Curriculums to POGO Progress
Uploading curriculums into POGO Progress is a key admin task that sets up how assessments, tracking, and reporting work. The process may vary slightly depending on your school’s setup (and whether you use an MIS sync), but here’s the standard method most schools follow:
Overview
Curriculum uploading in POGO means importing or defining:
- Subjects / objectives
- Milestones or standards (e.g., “Working Towards”, “Expected”, “Mastered”)
- Assessment criteria or statements
You can either upload them manually (CSV/Excel) or request POGO Support to upload them for you (especially large frameworks).
Step-by-Step: How to Upload Curriculums to POGO Progress
Step 1: Log in as Admin
- Only users with Admin status can manage curriculum uploads.
- Go to Settings (Cog symbol) → Curriculums
Step 2: Check Existing Frameworks
-
Before uploading, check what’s already there to avoid duplicates.
You might see existing templates like:
- National Curriculum
- EYFS Early Learning Goals
- Custom subjects from your school
Step 3: Adding New Curriculum
- In Curriculums, select Add in top corner
- Work through the sheet adding in the relevant information for that piece of the Curriculum, including adding in the Status levels
- The Age Bands are for Early Years
- In Curriculum Structure:
- Level 1 will be the Category imagining this is the different columns in a spreadsheet;
- Level 2 will be the Topic/Area of Learning ie addition, subtraction. The name (Topic/Area of Learning) is important as this is the display terminology
- Next add the Statements
- Save
Step 4: Upload the curriculum by Duplicating:
- All the same terminology must be used throughout
- Upload the curriculums:
- Click on Manage Statements
- Template - this will then export the example template you have prepared in Step 3.
- From the template, made the amendments adding in the statements etc
- Save and then Import that new document
- All of the information in the spreadsheet will now be added to Pogo
- You can then duplicate and amend for further years
Tips:
- Keep formatting consistent (no blank cells).
- Avoid special characters in headers.
- Save as .CSV or .XLS
Best Practices
- Always back up your existing framework before uploading new ones.
- Pilot upload one subject first to confirm formatting works.
- Maintain a version log (e.g., “Maths Curriculum v2025”).
- Coordinate with subject leads for quality assurance.
- Recheck permissions so only authorized staff can edit frameworks.
