Digital Reading Record - Demonstration

Using the Digital Reading Record in POGO Progress

The Digital Reading Record allows teachers and parents to log, monitor, and analyse a student’s reading activities throughout the academic year. It promotes engagement, encourages consistent home reading, and supports literacy development.

For Teachers

1. Access the Reading Record Module

  • Log in to your teacher account on POGO Progress.

  • Click on a student’s name and then Digital Learning profile in heading next to their name

  • To open their individual reading log, click on See More and then onto Reading Record

  • You can:
    • View parent-submitted entries.
    • Add new entries directly (e.g. guided reading sessions).
    • Edit or comment on existing logs.

3. Record Key Details

When adding a reading entry, include:

  • Ensure on correct Book or add new Book  this can be done using the Global Library
  • Start timer to monitor time spent reading
  • Words learnt
  • Questions asked
  • Comments or notes (e.g. comprehension, fluency, participation)
  • Page numbers read

For Parents

1. Access via the Parent App or Web Portal

  • Log in using your parent credentials.
  • Open your child’s profile and select the Reading Record tab.

2. Log Home Reading

  • When adding a reading entry, include:
    • Ensure on correct Book or add new Book  this can be done using the Global Library
    • Start timer to monitor time spent reading
    • Words learnt
    • Questions asked
    • Comments or notes (e.g. comprehension, fluency, participation)
    • Page numbers read

Tips for Maximising the Reading Record

  • Encourage parents to log entries regularly — even short sessions count.
  • Celebrate milestones (e.g. “10 Books Read” badges).
  • Combine Reading Record insights with Assessment Tracking for a fuller literacy overview.
  • Export data for inclusion in progress reports or parent meetings.
